The Laufid's actions are divided into large and small steps in the categories of environment, social factors and governance. They count towards different levels. The Laufid is based on social trust, so users mark yes if they believe they have completed the small steps. The large steps, however, require either uploading data for confirmation, entering numerical information or providing justification for the answer.
Set goals and prioritize actions
To be successful, it is good to set clear, measurable, actionable, realistic and time-bound goals. Setting goals along with a detailed action plan is part of creating a sustainability strategy. You can time the action, assign a responsible party, prioritize, and add comments that are only visible to you.
Calculate carbon emissions from operations
The Laufid Carbon Calculator covers scopes 1 and 2, as well as one item in scope 3. Our goal is to cover all items in the future. The calculator is easy to use and guides users through the process. There are explanations for each item and information about what data is required. The calculator is based on the GHG standard (Greenhouse Gas Protocol), with emission factors from DEFRA, combined with Icelandic emission factors for heat and electricity.
